HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE

Are you shopping for a ring but unsure of your size? Or perhaps you’ve found the perfect ring online, but it’s in a different size system than what you’re used to. Don’t worry, with a ring size conversion chart, you can easily determine your size in any system. In this post, we’ll explain the different ring size systems and provide a conversion chart to help you find your perfect fit.

We will discuss the various ring size systems. The most common systems are the US, UK, and European systems. The US system uses numbers to represent sizes, while the UK system uses letters. The European system uses a measurement in millimeters to indicate size. If you’re unsure which system you’re using, consult the retailer or look for a conversion chart.

As you will see, each system has its own unique sizes, but they all overlap at certain points. For example, a US size 6 is equivalent to a UK size L and a European size 51.5. By using this chart, you can easily find your size in any system.

Now that you have a conversion chart, it’s important to keep in mind that ring sizes can vary slightly depending on the width of the band and the material of the ring. It’s always a good idea to try on a ring in the desired size or use a ring sizer to ensure a perfect fit.

In conclusion, a ring size conversion chart is an essential tool for anyone shopping for a ring. By understanding the different ring size systems and using a conversion chart, you can ensure a perfect fit every time. So, the next time you’re shopping for a ring, remember to consult a conversion chart and try on a few different sizes to find your perfect fit.

How To Measure Your Ring Size

Using a measuring tape is the best and most accurate method to determine your ring size. For the best results, make sure to give enough space to accommodate your knuckle. Keep in mind that your fingers vary in size during the day depending on several factors, like temperature and humidity. Therefore, it is recommended to measure your finger at the end of the day, when it is likely the largest. Also, the same finger might differ in ring size for your left and right hand, make sure to measure the finger that you are planning to wear the ring on.

STEP 1: PLACE THE MEASURING TAPE

Place the measuring tape over your finger and pull it around into a circle.

STEP 2: ADJUST THE SIZE

Adjust the size of the circle, move it across your knuckles, and make sure it fits comfortably.

STEP 3: NOTE THE MEASUREMENTS AND FIND A SIZE

Take note of the measurements in millimeters and use the comparison chart or measurement guide on this page to find your ring size.

Why The Correct Ring Size Is Important

When choosing your next ring it is very important to take some things into consideration.

Wearing or putting on a ring should never hurt, tingle or swell. One that’s too tight could actually cut off the blood circulation, preventing the skin from breathing, and that could cause serious damage. It doesn’t leave indent marks.

Not all materials that are used to make rings are easily adjustable, or at all!

Don’t choose a smaller ring just to impress your friends or even your fiancé! Pick the ring that fits you comfortable from the start

You have to be able to always take your ring off, twist your ring or even move it from side to side

If you are unsure of your ring size and our handy plan above does not work for you, go to any jewelry store in a mall and ask them to assist you in measuring your ring size.

How Rings Are Measured In South Africa

Various ring size units are used all over the world. South Africa and the United Kingdom use the same system, while ring sizes in Germany and France are measured on a different scale.

Our (South Africa’s) system is also used by Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. Ring sizes are indicated by letters of the alphabet with half sizes in between. Each half size up represents an increase of 0.75 mm of the ring’s inside circumference.

We have compiled an easy to understand table below that will show you the following data:

The Different International Ring Measuring Units

Every country has its own ring size chart. Here is a breakdown of the most common ring size systems.

United States

In the United States, a number chart is used. The numbers run from zero to sixteen and run in full, quarter, half, and three-quarter sizes. There are two elements that are measured: the inside diameter and the inside circumference. The US uses inches to measure, so the measurements mentioned refer to inches. A size 0 ring is 0.458 inches in diameter and 1.44 inches in inside circumference. A size 16 ring measures 0.97 inches in diameter and 3.05 inches in inside circumference.

South Africa, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand

An alphabetized system is used in South Africa, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. A size A ring is equivalent in size to a size 0.5 ring in American terms. The sizes come in full sizes (A) and half sizes (A ½). A size A ring, the smallest size, runs 12.04 mm in diameter and 37.8 mm in inside circumference. The largest size is a size Z4 ring, the only letter size that goes beyond the half size. It is equivalent in size to the American size 14 ½, six sizes smaller than America’s largest ring size. It measures 23.42 mm in diameter and 73.6 mm in inside circumference.

Japan, China, and South America

Like the United States, Japan, China, and South America use numbers to determine ring sizes. However, their system works quite differently. Numbers run from 1 to 27, but are equivalent to only some other international sizes. For instance, the smallest size is a 1, and is equivalent to a US size 1 (the fourth size) and a UK B (the third size.) It measures 12.45 mm in diameter and 39.1 mm in inside circumference. Size 27, the largest size, is comparable with a US size 13 and is somewhere in between a UK Z ½ and a Z2. America has fourteen more sizes larger than a 27, and the UK has four. A size 27 ring measures 22.2 mm in diameter and 69.7 mm in inside circumference.
