WHAT ARE HEADPINS AND HOW TO USE THEM
WHAT ARE HEAD PINS?
Head pins are lengths of wire with a flat, ball, or decorative head on one end that acts as a stopper, used to string beads for jewelry projects like earrings, charms, and pendants.
To use head pins in jewelry making, you, slide beads onto the wire of the head pin, then bend the wire with round nose pliers to form a small loop above the beads, and then secure the loop by coiling the remaining wire around the pin's stem before cutting off the excess.

FLAT HEAD PINS
A flat head pin is a piece of thin metal wire with a flat, circular head on one end and a pointed end on the other, used as a component in jewelry making to hold beads and other decorative elements.
The flat head acts as a stopper, preventing beads from sliding off, while the pointed end is used to string beads and then is often bent into a loop to form a connection point.

BALL HEAD PINS
Ball head pins are thin pieces of metal wire with a small, rounded ball at one end.
They are a type of "head pin," a general term for wires used in jewelry making that have a finished end to prevent beads from slipping off.

DECORATIVE TIP HEAD PINS
Unlike simple flat or ball head pins, decorative tip head pins feature more intricate and creative designs, providing a decorative element that can be incorporated into designs.
They feature a decorative head at one end, making them easy and versatile to work with.
They come in a variety of shapes such as stars, hearts, paddles, or flowers.

Q: What can I do when the bottom of head pin is smaller than the hole of bead?
A: You can add a suitable Spacer Bead or a Bead Cap to keep the bead from falling off, which also adds more beauty to the component.

Q: What can I do when I receive curved or bent head pins?
A: Straightening curved or bent head pins is most easily accomplished using Nylon Jaw Pliers.
Simply draw the wire through the nylon jaws while gently holding the pliers closed.
Repeat this a few times until your wire is straight.
The nylon jaws will protect your wire from nicks and scratches.
And although the nylon tips should last a while, they can be replaced when needed.
