HOW TO USE CHARMS FOR JEWELRY MAKING

Charms are so fun and add personality to your handmade jewelry designs. Here are some easy ways you can use them to create colorful and creative designs.

Charms work great as statement necklaces. With so many fun charms to choose from, it can be a great way to choose a personalized charm for yourself or a friend.

Simply attach a jump ring (this is important to ensure your necklace sits nicely) to the charm and attach to your favorite chain.

Use your favorite charms to create a bracelet full of fun and interesting charms. If you are using a chain, you will need the appropriately sized jump rings to attach the charms.

In this design we have used paua shell charms which have beautiful iridescent of turquoise, green, blue, purple and pink patterns which shimmer across these natural shells. This stretch bracelet has jump rings already on it, so it could not be easier to attach your favorite charms for an instant design!

This is one design you can make in seconds! Many of our charms are suitable for simply sliding onto silver earring hoops for a quick and easy make.

If you have a charm with a flat back, you can use it as a bail! Simply roughen up the back with sandpaper, apply glue (we recommend Epoxy glue) and stick to your chosen cabochon or piece of sea glass. If the charm does not sit properly, you can always bend it (or use a hammer to alter the shape) to fit around your chosen piece.

Here we have used a bird charm and glued it onto a piece of sea glass to create a pretty necklace.

Charms are great for combining with gemstone beads! In this design, we have used leaf charms alongside peridot rondelle beads to create pretty spring inspired earring drops.
