Rose Quartz is fairly hard, so it can be cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner. Avoid heat with most forms of colorful quartzes to prevent hue shift. Store Rose Quartz out of direct sunlight to preserve its color.
Peridot, the birthstone for the month of August, is also given in celebration of the 16th year of marriage. Known as the stone of compassion, Peridot is believed to bring good health, restful sleep and peace to relationships by balancing emotions and mind. This friendly bright green stone also has the uncanny ability to inspire eloquence and creativity; it also brings delight and good cheer. It attracts love and calms anger by giving renewal to all things.
Peridot should be spared from rugged wear. The best way to clean Peridot is with warm, soapy water. You should protect it from scratching and sharp blows that can fracture or shatter the stone. Also, avoid large temperature changes, ultrasonic cleaners and steam cleaners that could damage the stone.
Peridot is sensitive to heat, acids, ammonia, and hot water. Rinsing Peridot in clean water is safe. Let it air dry and store away from other metals or gemstones that might damage the surface. Remove Peridot jewelry when doing heavy work that might scratch it such as gardening or mechanics.
When mixing Peridot with other gemstones such as Rose Quartz, are beguiling and as fresh as a new spring day.
